NCI Application Process

The NCI selection process includes an application and an interview. It's actually more like a matching process to connect people and their interests with organizations and learning experiences where they can grow. Applicants are encouraged to share about themselves.

  • The NCI application and informational brochure are available as PDF files. Download and complete the application below. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to view and print the files.
If you you are unable to download the application, please contact Geoff Tsudama of the Little Tokyo Service Center (see below) to request an application by mail.
  • All applications must be postmarked or hand delivered to the address below by Friday, March 7, 2008:

  • Applicants will be contacted to set-up an interview. In-person interviews are preferred, but we understand that it's not always possible. (If you do not live or go to school in California, but will be in Los Angeles or the Bay Area during your winter or spring break, you may want to consider submitting your application in advance of your trip and have your interview while you're in town. Please call the NCI staff to ask about early interviews.)
  • Written notifications will be mailed to all applicants during the first week of April.

For more information, please contact Geoff Tsudama at the Little Tokyo Service Center (213/473-1687 or gtsudama(at)ltsc.org) or Erika Tamura of the Japanese Community Youth Council (415/563-8052).
